Armenia’s Football Federation boss says Mkhitaryan can play in any world-class club
Henrikh Mkhitaryan will never remain on the reserve bench, President of the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA), Ruben Hayrapetyan said on Friday.
Speaking at a news conference in Yerevan, the FFA boss said his last interaction with the Armenian football star took place on the scope of the Armenian national team’s latest friendly match.
“There was no such tensions, problems back then. You know I know almost as much as you do. Naturally, I know a little bit more. I have held telephone conversations with Mkhitaryan. I want to refrain from making any comments now, since the player-coach relationship can always improve or worsen,” Hayrapetyan said, stating there is no need to interfere with their work now.
The FFA chief assured he obtains no clear information on Mkhitaryan’s possible transfer to a new club.
“Henrikh Mkhitaryan is a footballer who can play in any world-class football club. Believe me, he will never remain on the bench, since he is a professional and diligent footballer, who will always have his place in the starting line-up,” he stated.
