Parliament initiates hearings on the price increase of separate goods in the country
The Speaker of Armenia’s National (NA) Assembly Ara Babloyan announced an intention to hold parliamentary hearings over the increase of prices for individual goods.
The discussion named “Reasons of the price hike for some goods in the country and ways mitigating the consequences of rising prices” will take place on January 23 at 11:00 Yerevan time, Babloyan said during the opening remarks of the third session of the NA sixth convocation.
As Babloyan explained the hearings come amid by the wide resonance in the society and public concerns over the increase of prices of certain goods as well as following President’s proposals on the matter.
Babloyan asked the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs and other responsible committees to jointly organize the hearings and ensure the participation of involved all state and non-governmental organizations.
