Certain roads closed, difficult to pass in Armenia
Some roadways are closed and difficult to pass in the territory of Armenia as of 10:00 a.m. January 19, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
On 19 January, at night of 20, in some regions light precipitation is predicted at times, with wind intensification up to 15-20 m/s possible in separate places. No precipitation is predicted in the country in the daytime of January 20, on January 21-23.
According to the source, Vardenyats pass and Yerizak-Zarishat highway are closed. Sotk-Karvachar and Mastara-Lanjik highways are difficult to pass.
Kotayk province roads and Aparan-Tsilkar highway are partly covered with black ice. Snowfall has hit Ashotsk region of Shirak province.
The drivers are strictly recommended to use exclusively winter tires when driving in the regions.
According to the information received from the Department of Emergency Situations of Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and the general department of the Republic of North Ossetia of Russia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations, Stepantsminda-Lars highway is closed for all types of vehicles.
According to the information received from the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry's Crisis Management Center in North Ossetia on 18 January, at 6:00 p.m., a total of 124 trucks are accumulated on the Russian side.
