Iranian president careful about making promises, Armenian expert says
President Hassan Rouhani has interacted with Iranian citizens answering their questions through a state TV channel following the mass anti-government protests across the country, an Armenian expert on Iran said on Facebook.
Armen Israyelyan noted that Rouhani was quite careful about making big promises to satisfy the demands of the demonstrators. Meantime he firmly reaffirmed his commitment to the key provisions of his program (security, stability and freedom).
“If Rouhani has given his strong assurances the government will work better in the financial, economic, budgetary and social security spheres, he still seems to be dealing with freedom issues, namely over fully eliminating the control over the activates of social networks,” the expert wrote.
