PACE elects Arpine Hovhannisyan Vice-President of EPP Group
The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) on Wednesday elected Arpine Hovhannisyan, the head of Armenia’s delegation, Vice-President of the European People’s Party (EPP) Group.
Arpine Hovhannisyan secured 30 votes to be elected to the post, the correspondent of Panorama.am reported from Strasbourg.
As reported earlier, Cezar Florin Preda (Romania) was today elected the President of the EPP Group at PACE. Axel Fischer, the former head of the group, resigned amid controversy and corruption allegations inside the group. The latter has also been left out of the German delegation to the PACE this year.
