Roads mostly passable in Armenia
Roadways are mostly passable in the territory of Armenia as of 10:00 a.m. January 25, with black ice reported on some sections of the roads, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
Light precipitation is predicted from time to time on 25-27 January in most regions, at night of January 28 in Lori, Tavush, Syunik regions and Artsakh, in separate places the wind speed may exceed up to 15-20 m/s. In the daytime of January 28, on 29 no precipitation is predicted in the country.
According to the source, Vardenyats pass and Sotk-Karvachar highway are difficult to pass party covered with black ice.
Snowstorm has hit Getap-Martuni highway.
Snowfall is reported in Berd, Noyemberyan and Dilijan towns of Tavush region.
The ministry urges all drivers to use exclusively winter tires when driving in the regions.
According to the information received from the Department of Emergency Situations of Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and the general department of the Republic of North Ossetia of Russia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations, Stepantsminda-Lars highway is closed only for trucks.
According to the information received from the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry's Crisis Management Center in North Ossetia on 25 January, at 9:00 a.m., a total of 83 trucks are stuck on the Russian side.
