PM Karapetyan meets with Russian deputy FM in Davos
Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan on Friday met with Arkady Dvorkovich, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, in Davos to discuss a range of issues of the Armenian-Russian agenda, the government’s press office reported.
Touching upon the trade-economic figures of the past year, Karen Karapetyan highlighted the growth recorded in the trade turnover, exports and imports between Armenia and Russia.
“These figures come to show we are on the right track,” he said.
The officials also discussed issues related to the cooperation within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). They referred to the Meghri Free Economic Zone launched on the Armenian-Iranian border and the possibilities to actively attract the Russian businesses and capital there.
Karen Karapetyan and Arkady Dvorkovich also discussed the mutual cooperation in the agricultural sphere. The top Armenian official briefed Mr Dvorkovich on the ongoing programs in the animal husbandry sector in Armenia, noting it can interest the Russian partners.
The prime minister also pointed out a number of spheres where Armenia is ready to implement programs by public-private sector partnership.
