Vardenyats pass closed for traffic
Snowfalls have hit the roadways of Meghri, Kapan, Goris, Sisian, Yeghegnadzor, Ashtarak, Armavir, Talin, Aparan, Maralik, Abovyan, Dilijan, Ijevan, Vanadzor, Stepanavan, Noyemberyan and Tumanyan regions as of 9:30 a.m. January 27, Armenia’s Ministry of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies reported.
Vardenyats pass is closed due to snow and snowstorm. Gavar-Sevan and Gavar-Martuni highways are partly covered with black ice.
Road crews are carrying out cleaning works with chemical salt and sand along the roads.
All the other interstate and republican roads in the territory of Armenia are passable.
