The Armenian State Symphony Orchestra to perform with soprano Shoghig Torossian
The Armenian State Symphony Orchestra will perform with Lebanese-Armenian soprano Shoghig Torossian on February 7.
As the Orchestra reported in a release, Shoghig Torossian has her unique role in the Lebanese cultural life. She performed at different stages of the world, cooperating with famous musicians and collectives. Typically, she presents Komitas during her concerts, sacred music, songs and romances by Armenian composers, as well as arias from Armenian and Western-European operas.
She is the lead soloist of the "Snorhali" choir of the Armenian Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia and the "Gousan" choir of the Hamazkayin. She has also performed in Armenia, recorded two CDs.
Shoghig Torossian is also teaching in Beirut, at Barsegh Kanachyan Musical Academy of the Hamazkayin Cultural and Educational Association as well as Armenian Evangelical Central High School.
On February 7 the audience will enjoy famous compositions by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Franz Schubert, Giacomo Puccini, as well as by Armenian composers, Komitas, Barsegh Kanachyan, Tigran Tchoukhajian, Alexander Arutyunyan, Arno Babajanyan, Stepan Shakaryan, Edgar Gyanjumyan, Gevorg Manasyan, Gabriel Eranyan, Artemi Ayvazyan.
