Baghanis village to have a new kindergarten
Baghanis border village of Armenia will have a new kindergarten. As village mayor Narek Sahakyan told Panorama.am, the construction works will be completed in 2018. In his words, the old kindergarten ceased operation after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Then, following the constant Azerbaijani shelling, the building was severely damaged and left in a precarious condition.
"What we have today is a two-room facility in the Mayor's House, where children attend. Thanks to funds by donor organizations, we were able to obtain beds and closets for the children and create basic amenities."
As Sahakyan informed the new building will be constructed by the funding of the US-based Paros Foundation in partnership with the International Committee of the Red Cross. The new building will cover a total of 110 square meters with shelters to keep children safe in case of shelling.
"We are excited to have 18 children attending the kindergarten. Meanwhile, 23 children are due to attend next year," Sahakyan said, adding
