Armenia's electricity generation up 6.1% in 2017
A total of 7,762.9 million kilowatt-hours of electricity were produced in Armenia in 2017, up by 6.1% to compare with productions volumes of 2016, Armenia's National Statistical Service (NSS) reported.
According to the NSS figures, in 2017 the electricity generation at terminal power plants grew by 11.2%, amounting to 2,871.8 million kilowatt-hours, while at wind power plants - 2.1 million kilowatt-hours which is 16.7% increase against the volumes of 2016.
In the indicated period, Armenia's Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) produced 2 619.6 million kilowatt-hours of electricity, securing a 10% rise over 2016.
Electricity production volumes at hydropower plants cut down by 10.8%, totaling to 30.6 million kilowatt-hours.
To note, electricity generation at Armenia's solar power plants made up 0.4 million kilowatt-hours in 2017.
