Heavy fines to be set for illegal use of fireworks in Armenia’s capital
The illegal use of fireworks in Armenia’s capital will lead to heavy fines as proposed by the draft amendments to the Armenian law on dues and fees, Deputy Yerevan Mayor Kamo Areyan told reporters at the National Assembly on Thursday.
According to the official, the new bill proposes AMD 1million fine for those who are caught setting off fireworks in Yerevan without official permission.
“If the same action is repeated within one year of the compliance date of the first such violation, it will be subjected to a fine of AMD 2 million,” he said, adding the users will be suspended or banned to perform the same action if caught setting off illegal fireworks for a third time.
The deputy mayor also noted fines will be imposed for nighttime disturbance, with the offenders facing AMD 100,000 fine for the first time and AMD 200,000 for a second time violation.
