Armen Sarkissian assesses discussions with Yelk faction MPs ‘open and professional’
Armen Sarkissian, the candidate of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) for Armenia’s next president, is satisfied with the meeting with Yelk opposition faction MPs, he told reporters in the National Assembly.
“We addressed questions to each other; the discussions were very open and professional. I feel satisfied on my part since it was a very open conversation and I think this conversation is not the last one. We also talked about our future meetings,” Mr Sarkissian said.
He said to be aware of Yelk faction’s decision to vote against his candidacy, which the opposition bloc announced before his arrival.
“I naturally respect their decision, but that does not mean that if elected, I will not work with them. On the contrary, they represent an opposition structure expressing the opinion of a certain section of society, so I look forward to continue working with them.”
Mr Sarkissian also promised to make reporters his best friends if elected Armenia’s next president, even if they address the most critical questions to him.
