The exhibition is dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Russia and the 300th anniversary of Russia and New Nakhijevan Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, the parliament’s press office told Panorama.am.
“Last year Armenia and Russia celebrated the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations – a new turning phase in our peoples’ glorious history. 300 years ago Russia and New Nakhijevan Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church was founded, which is the spiritual centre of the Armenians of Russia, who faithfully serve to their new Motherland, preserving their national identity,” the top Armenia official said in his remarks delivered at the event.
“In the last quarter of the century the Armenian-Russian relations are steadily developing, reaching the allied [level], which meets our peoples’ vital interests and aspirations,” he said.
Mr Babloyan stressed the treaty on Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Aid serves as the cornerstone of the Russian-Armenian inter-state relations, adding its 20th anniversary was marked in 2017.
