Artsakh sees 7.8% agricultural GDP rise in 2017
Artsakh agricultural gross domestic product (GDP) made 76.2 billion drams in 2017, the National Statistical Service informed Artsakhpress.
The source added agricultural GDP grew by 7.8% as compared to 2016, with the growth mainly conditioned by increase in gross output of plant cultivation.
According to the source, production of meat, grain and legume (including maize), and milk mainly contributed to the growth in agricultural gross output.
The production of meat, vegetable, and fruit and berries has increased by 5.9%, 1.5% and 1.3% respectively compared to the past year’s data.
The statistics show in 2017, as compared with the same period in 2016, the number of cattle decreased by 4.8% in the republic. The number of cows decreased by 2.5%, that of small cattle by 33.2%. Increase was marked in the number of pigs (4.7%) and birds (7.1%).
