Extreme cold weather forecast for Europe not to affect Armenia
Extreme cold weather is forecast for almost all the European countries starting from February 22, Director of the Meteorological Center of Armenia's Ministry of Emergency Situations, Gagik Surenyan said on his Facebook page.
The expert detailed freezing Arctic air masses will penetrate from western Siberia to Russia and Europe, extending to Spain and Portugal. Temperatures will drop to -25...-30 degrees in certain parts of Europe, with the freezing weather expected to maintain for a while.
Surenyan said Armenia will not be affected by the cold air masses. “The very opposite phenomenon is observed here. with tropical warm air currents actively penetrating into the country from the southwest, due to which the air temperature will grow by 5-6 degrees until 25 February,” he wrote.
No precipitation is forecast for the entire country from 20 to 24 February. Southwest wind speed is 3-8 m/s.
The air temperature will reach +9-+11 in capital Yerevan in the daytime on Tuesday.
