Ara Saghatelyan takes part in Jerusalem int’l conference for parliamentary administration heads
The Israeli parliament (Knesset) is hosting an international conference of parliamentary directors-general and secretaries-general, with the parliaments and international organisations from some 25 countries, including from Armenia, represented at the event,
Armenian National Assembly Chief of Staff-Secretary General Ara Saghatelyan takes part in the works of the conference held on February 20-22, the parliament’s press service said.
Nearly 50 senior officials of parliaments from around the world take part in the Knesset’s largest ever conference. Knesset Director-General Albert Sacharovich and Knesset Secretary Yardena Meller-Horowitz also attend the works of the conference.
Speaker of the Knesset Yuli Yoel Edelstein expressed conviction that the conference will greatly contribute to enhancing the effective cooperation between the parliaments.
During the conference, discussions will be held particularly on the example of the Knesset on parliamentary accessibility for the public, the transparency and publicity of the legislative work and the parliamentary oversight towards the legislative body. The participants of the forum will pay cognitive visits to the “Green Knesset,” the Knesset Guard and the Visitors Center. The guests will visit the Western Wall and the Holocaust Museum in Jerusalem, as well as the Museum of the Jewish People in Tel Aviv.
The parliamentary delegations of Armenia, Belarus, Brazil, Canada, Cyprus, the Council of Europe, the Czech Republic, the European Parliament, Germany, Ghana, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Mexico, Moldova, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Rwanda, Sweden, Switzerland, Uganda, and Ukraine are represented in the conference.
