Sevak Khanagyan to represent Armenia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018
Sevak Khanagyan has won the Armenian national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest, 'Depi Evratesil' and will represent the country in Lisbon in May with the song 'Qami' (Wind).
The Armenian national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest, was organized by the Public Television company of Armenia (AMPTV). The show consisted out of 2 semi-finals with twenty participating acts that were narrowed to the final ten acts that appeared in the final show.
The winner Sevak Khanagyan was decided by a combination of international experts jury and public votes. Sevak got the maximum 12 points from both the expert jury and the televote for his song, written by Sevak Khanagyan, Anna Danielyan and Viktorya Maloyan.
Sevak was born in Metsavan. At the age of seven, he began to play his first melody on the keyboards and entered a music school. Sevak then graduated from the Kursk Cultural College and later received a higher education in the Moscow State Classical Academy; during his studies he began to play in different bands.
The greatest recognition and love of the audience came when he won the Ukrainian X Factor which he followed with a tour through Russia, Ukraine and Armenia. In 2017, he joined as a coach in The Voice of Armenia.
