Roads mostly passable in Armenia
Roadways are mostly open for traffic in the territory of Armenia as of 9 a.m. February 27, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
Precipitation is predicted at times on February 27, at night and on the first half of the daytime of March 2 in most regions, in the daytime of March 2 in Vayots Dzor, Syunik Provinces and Artsakh. On February 28, on March 1 and 3, no precipitation is predicted.
Black ice has taken hold on some sections of Sotk-Karvachar highway. Snowfalls have hit Kajaran town (Syunik Province) and Yelpin turns, with fog observed in Goris town (Syunik region).
The ministry urges all drivers to use exclusively winter tires when driving in the regions.
According to the information provided by the Department of Emergency Situations of Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and the general department of the Republic of North Ossetia of Russia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations, Stepantsminda-Lars highway is open for all types of vehicles.
