Sharmazanov highlights the quick ratification of Armenia-EU agreement by the Parliament of Lithuania
Lithuania, as an EU member state, can be a reliable bridge in Armenia-European Union relationship, Deputy Speaker of Armenian National Assembly, Head of Armenia-Lithuania Friendship Group Eduard Sharmazanov stated at as meeting today with the Ambassador of Lithuania to Armenia Erikas Petrikas.
As the press department at the Parliament reported, regarding the RA-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement, Sharmazanov underscored the quick ratification of the document by the Parliament of Lithuania as soon as possible. In his turn, the Ambassador highlighted the signing of the RA-EU new Agreement which to him, creates new opportunities for the development of different spheres.
During the meeting Sharmazanov positively assessed the level of the development of the Armenian-Lithuanian relations, underlining Ambassador Petrikas' efforts in the expansion of the inter-state and inter-parliamentary ties.
According to the release, the deputy speaker also touched upon the refusal of the condemnation and denilaism of the genocides. He noted that on the occasion of the 70th jubilee year of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide by the UN the Parliament of Armenia initiated to organize exhibitions with the heading The Parliamentarians against Genocide. It has been noted that on April 30, such exhibition against Turkish denialism is scheduled to implement in the capital of Slovakia Bratislava. Eduard Sharmazanov mentioned the possibility of organizing such exhibition in Lithuania.
