Martiros Saryan's unique work painted on glass unveiled in Yerevan for the first time
The Yerevan House Museum of Martiros Saryan unveiled today a unique painting by renowned Armenian artist Martiros Saryan "Flowers" which is painted on glass. The work was brought to Armenia by Belarussian art collector Yuri Nosov.
The history of the creation of the masterpiece is documented in a film produced by Hayfilm Studio and directed by Layert Vagharshyan in 1965 on the 65th birthday anniversary of the artist. The documentary portrays the life and creative art of the world-famous painter and specifically the process of drawing the painting.
"We wanted to breathe a new life into the archived documentary that has left out of the public judgment for years. The documentary features Saryan himself, drawing the "Flowers" in his shop and he is not even aware of the shooting. The film depicts a complete natural setting around the artist, recreating the history of a whole state and the creation of an art piece," the daughter of the film director Marine Vagharshyan noted in her remarks.
Collector Yuri Nosov admitted he had watched the film for three times that was earlier screened on Russian TV channel. "This is a unique work drawn on a transparent glass. I am extremely happy to be here in Yerevan and surrounded by numerous admirers of Saryan's art," Nosov said, adding that he has always been prone to exhibiting his private collections.
