Roads mostly open in Armenia
Roadways are mostly passable in the territory of Armenia as of 9 a.m. February 28, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
Weather forecasters expect no precipitation in the country on February 28, on March 1 and from 3 to 4. At night and on the first half of the day of March 2 precipitation is predicted at times, with wet snow and sleet expected at night of March 2 in the highlands.
Some sections of Sotk-Karvachar highway are covered with black ice.
Fog has descended over Goris and Kapan towns (Syunik Province).
The ministry urges all drivers to use exclusively winter tires when driving in the regions.
According to the information provided by the Department of Emergency Situations of Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and the general department of the Republic of North Ossetia of Russia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations, Stepantsminda-Lars highway is open for all types of vehicles.
