Aeroflot Open: GM Tigran Petrosyan places 5th in the top A tournament
The 16th Aeroflot Open chess festival was concluded in Moscow, Russia with Armenian chess players left out of prize-winning places. As the National Olympic Committee reported, GM Tigran L. Petrosyan and Gabriel Sargsyan scored 6 points out of 9 in the top A Tournament, taking the 5th and 8th spots respectively.
Among other representatives of Armenia, Aram Hakobyan has scored 5 points (21st), Manuel Petrosyan - 4 points (56th), Hayk Martirosyan, Arman Mikayelyan and Shant Sargsyan - 3.5 points each, placing respectively 75th, 79th and 83rd places.
Vladislav Kovalev of Belarus was declared the winner of the main tournament.
