Prominent filmmaker Albert Mkrtchyan to be buried in the Yerevan City Pantheon
Renowned filmmaker, People's Artist of Armenia Albert Mkrtchyan will be buried in the Yerevan City Pantheon, the Union of Cinematographers of Armenia reports.
According to the decision of the government commission for the organization of the funeral of Albert Mkrtchyan, the service will be held in Surb Hovhannes Church in Yerevan's Kond district from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on March 1. The funeral ceremony will start at 11:00 on March 2 in Mher Mkrtchyan Artistic Theatre at 18 Khorenatsi St. in Yerevan. The filmmaker will be buried in in the Yerevan City Pantheon.
To remind, prominent Armenian film director, screenwriter and theatre director Albert Mkrtchyan passed away on Wednesday morning, just one day after celebrating his 81st birthday.
Mkrtchyan wrote and directed many famous Armenian films, including "The Song of the Old Days" (1982), "Tango of our Childhood" (1985), "Merry Bus", "Dawn on a Sad Street", and the others.
