Armenia’s knitwear, cotton fabrics production on the rise
Armenia saw a significant growth in knitwear and cotton fabrics production in 2017, the statistics show.
A total of 4,375,600 units of knitwear were manufactured in the country in 2017, up by 25.9% against the 2016 data, the National Statistical Service (NSS) informed Panorama.am.
The production volumes of cotton fabrics also recorded an increase of 30.6% in 2017. The production volumes amounted to 3.6 tones in 2016, whereas some 4.7 tones of cotton fabrics were produced over the past year.
The production volumes of bed linen, umbrellas and jackets also grew in Armenia in 2017 compared to the previous year’s figures.
For the indicated period, only hosiery output declined in Armenia. 13,650,500 pairs were manufactured in 2017, showing a 16% decrease from 2016.
