Parliament begins voting to elect Armenia’s next president
The 4th session of the 4-day sitting kicked off in the Armenia National Assembly on Friday, with the MPs set to elect Armenia’s next president.
The lawmakers began voting to elect the fourth president of Armenia at 10:30 a.m.
To note, Armen Sarkissian , 64, the Ambassador of Armenia to the United Kingdom and the country's former Prime Minister, was formally nominated for president of Armenia based on a signed petition from 65 MPs from the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) and coalition member ARF-Dashnaktutun factions.
