Roads mostly passable in Armenia
Roadways are mostly open for traffic in the territory of Armenia as of 10 a.m. March 2, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
Weather forecasters expect precipitation at night and in the morning of March 2, on 4-6 from time to time in most regions, in the daytime of March 2 in Vayots Dzor, Syunik Provinces and in Artsakh. The weather is expected to clear up on March 3.
According to the source, Vardenyants Pass and Sotk-Karvachar highway are difficult to pass.
Snowfalls are reported in Vardenis, Martuni (Gegharkunik Province), Meghri, Kajaran and Goris (Syunik Province) towns of Armenia.
The ministry urges all drivers to use exclusively winter tires when driving in the regions.
According to the information provided by the Department of Emergency Situations of Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs, Stepantsminda-Lars highway is open for all types of vehicles, while the general department of the Republic of North Ossetia of Russia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations said that the highway is closed for trucks.
