Petrol prices rise in Armenia by 22.2% in one year
February 2018 saw 0.1% deflation in the non-food product market of Armenia to compare with January 2018. According to the newly released data of the National Statistical Service (NSS), deflation is observed for shoes and clothes, respectively by 3.8% and 0.9%. Meanwhile, in the above-mentioned period the price of furniture and home electronic appliances rose by 1.1%. The prices of carpets and construction materials increased by 0.1%, the costs of medication and stationery rose by 0.9%.
As Armenia's National Statistical Service reports, in February 2018 Armenia recorded 3.6% and 3.4% inflation in the petrol and diesel fuel respectively to compare with January 2018. The petrol and diesel fuel prices rose by 22.2% and 29%, respectively, to compare with February 2017, while 9.1% and 20.3% rise in prices observed to compare with December 2017.
Based on the monitoring data conducted in the towns of the republic, deflation of 1.4 - 0.1% was observed in 5 towns with registered inflation by 0.2-0.9% in three towns. Prices in the non-food product market in capital Yerevan dropped by 0.2%.
