Georges Képénékian: Artsakh is in my heart
Mayor of Lyon Georges Képénékian, who is in Yerevan on official visit, held a final press conference today to sum up the results of his visit. Asked whether the Mayor plans to come up with programs involving Artsakh, Képénékian stressed the current talks and the memorandum signed yesterday are about cooperation between Lyon and Yerevan and with his mayoral capacity he is not entitled to deal with issues of Armenia and Artsakh.
"I would answer in a way the Ambassador outlined that the French policy is not about creating situations that would endanger the current state of affairs. However, it would be a sin not to confess that Artsakh is in my heart" Képénékian said.
He next added that there are other measures and options to assist the Armenian people there.
