Armenian parliament OKs Public Council, Security Council and referendum bills
The Armenian National Assembly on Wednesday adopted in the second reading and in full the draft law on Public Council.
A total of 64 MPs voted in favor of the bill, while 32 voted against it, Panorama.am reports.
The bill on the formation and activities of the Security Council also passed the parliament’s second reading with a vote of 89 for and 8 against.
The parliament also passed in the first reading the draft law proposing amendments and supplements to the law “On State Awards and Honorary Titles” by 64 votes to 8, with 25 abstentions.
The National Assembly adopted in the first reading the draft constitutional law “On Referendum”.
Yelk opposition faction MP Artak Zeynalyan voiced the bloc’s strong opposition to the bill, adding they will come up with certain proposals over the measure in the second reading.
The bill received 64 votes in favor and only 33 votes against.
