Tobacco production on the rise in Armenia
In January 2018, the tobacco production volumes increased by 60.4% in Armenia compared to the same period of 2017, according to the data released by the National Statistical Service (NSS) of Armenia.
As Panorama.am was informed from the NSS, in the indicated period of 2017, 1 million 527.2 thousand units of cigarettes were produced in Armenia, whereas 2 million 449.5 thousand units of cigarettes were produced in the country in January of the current year.
To note, surveys indicate that more than 50 percent of Armenia men above 16 and almost 4 percent of women smoke.
