18-year-old violinist Sofya Vardanyan to appear with National Philharmonic Orchestra
A concert by young talented violinist Sofya Vardanyan with the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Ruben Asatryan will take place today at 19:00 at Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall. The event is organized in the frames of the two-month Francophonie season in Armenia.
As the Philharmonic Orchestra announced, the concert features Overture to the opera "Beatrice et Benedict" by Berlioz, "Introduction and Perpetuum Mobile" for violin and orchestra by Mirzoyan, Tzigane" Concert Rhapsody for violin and orchestra by Ravel and Franck: Symphony in d-minor.
Sofya Vardanyan, 18, performs for the third time with the National Philharmonic Orchestra. Born in Yerevan in family of mucisians, Sofya graduated from Tchaykovsky Secondary Music School, involved in the classes of professors Alekhandr Kosemyan (2007-2014) and Artashes Mkrtchyan (2014-2017). Since September Vardanyan has studied Detmold Musik Hochschule in Germany.
Vardanyan is a laurate of number of international music festivals and competitions.
