The cooperation between the parliaments has an important role on the agenda of the Armenian-Russian inter-state relations, Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Ara Babloyan stated today at a meeting with the delegation members of the Committee on International Affairs of the Russian Federal Assembly Council of Federation led by Konstantin Kosachev.

As the Parliament press service reported, Babloyan praised the work of the committees that acts as a "platform for the dialogue of the two countries' legislators and gives an opportunity to discuss a big circle of items of bilateral interest."
The speaker next highlighted the cooperation in the international parliamentary organizations and has noted that in this issue the role of the relevant Committees of the legislative bodies and Friendship Groups is great.
Expressing his gratitude for the reception, Committee Chair on International Affairs of the RF Federal Assembly Council of Federation Konstantin Kosachev has stated that Armenia is a unique ally for Russia: the limits for contacts and the agendas often coincide.
Mr Kosachev also emphasized the role of the parliamentary diplomacy and mutually beneficial cooperation in the international structures, noting that Russia and Armenia are involved in about seven Assemblies: in the Committee Chair's word, it is not an accidental coincidence - it is about common interests.
