Armenia’s Nalbandian, Swedish legislators discuss Armenia-EU relations
Armenia attaches importance to the parliamentary diplomacy as an effective format of cooperation between countries, and from this perspective the active partnership of the two state’s legislative bodies is praiseworthy, Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, who is in Stockholm on an official visit, announced at the meeting with Swedish parliament speaker and members of the Riksdag Committee on Foreign Affairs.
FM Nalbandian and Speaker of the Riksdag Urban Ahlin praised the activities of the Armenian and Swedish parliamentary friendship groups, as well as the partnerships established between the foreign affairs committees and mutual visits, the Foreign Ministry said in a press release.
The top Armenian official briefed the Swedish delegation on Armenia's current transition to the parliamentary system of government.
The officials exchanged views on deepening the Armenian-Swedish cooperation within parliamentary assemblies of international organizations.
The meeting addressed issues related to the Armenia-EU relations. In this context, the sides attached a high value to the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA) and the multi-sectoral cooperation between Armenia and the EU.
They also exchanged views on pressing regional and international issues. FM Nalbandian briefed Urban Ahlin on the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair countries towards the peaceful settlement of the Artsakh conflict.
