Armenian, Russian lawmakers reiterate the need to implement confidence building measures in Karabakh conflict zone
The joint sitting of the Armenian National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee on Foreign Relations and the Russian Federal Assembly of Federation Committee on International Affairs co-chaired by Armen Ashotyan and Konstantin Kosachev concluded its work with an adopted statement.
As the press department at the parliament reported, the statement reflects on the inter-parliamentary ties in the development of the inter-state relations between Armenia, Russia, synchronization of legislation and the consistent development of partnership.
The statement also refers to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement, reiterating the need to seek a peaceful and mutually acceptable solution to the conflict, as outlined by the principles set in the joint statements of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairing countries as well as the joint statement by the Heads of Delegation of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair countries, adopted in Vienna in December 2017.
The parties also pointed to the need of implementation and maintenance of the complex measures aimed at confidence building measures in Nagorno Karabakh conflict zone, as arranged during the presidential summits in Vienna and St. Petersburg.
