Armenia to send 39 observers to monitor the Russian presidential vote
Russian Central Election Commission released today the number of observers set to follow the Russian presidential election for upcoming Sunday.
RT reports, that Kazakhstan tops the list with the most number of observers - 223, poised to be deployed throughout the polling stations in the country. Kazakhstan is followed by Belarus with 116 observers, Germany - 94, France - 84, Kirgizstan - 65, the U.S. - 56, Poland - 52, Armenia - 39, Italy - 33. Bulgaria concludes the list with 26 observers.
Overall, 1392 observers from 87 countries are set to monitor the elections which is more to compare with the number of previous presidential and State Duma elections.
To note, Russia's presidential election is scheduled for Sunday, and there are eight candidates running this year: Sergey Baburin from the All-People's Union party, Communist Party candidate Pavel Grudinin, incumbent Russian President Vladimir Putin, Civil Initiative party candidate Ksenia Sobchak, Communists of Russia party chairman Maxim Suraykin, Presidential Commissioner for Entrepreneurs' Rights Boris Titov, co-founder of the Yabloko party Grigory Yavlinsky, and head of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia Vladimir Zhirinovsky.
