Hrayr Tovmasyan elected President of Armenia’s Constitutional Court
The Armenian National Assembly elected today Hrayr Tovmasyan, an MP form the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), President of the Armenian Constitutional Court.
A total of 94 MPs out of 105 took part in the voting, Vote Counting Commission Head Gagik Melikyan said in the parliament.
“There were 94 ballot papers in the ballot box, with 2 ballots declared invalid. 64 MPs voted in favor [of his candidacy], while 27 voted against. Thus, Hrayr Tovmasyan has been elected President of the RA Constitutional Court,” Melikyan announced.
Hrayr Tovmasyan’s candidacy for the post was nominated by National Assembly Speaker Ara Babloyan.
