Lars road closed amid avalanche risk
All the roadways are open for traffic in Armenia as of 8 a.m. on Friday, the Ministry of Emergency Situations told Panorama.am.
Rains with thunderstorm are expected from time to time on 30-31 March and in the evening of April 3, with heavy rains predicted in the daytime of March 30 in separate places. On 1 April and 2, at night of 3 April no precipitation is forecast.
According to the information provided by the Department of Emergency Situations of Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and the General Department of the Republic of North Ossetia of Russia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations, Stepantsminda-Lars highway is closed for all types of vehicles amid an avalanche risk.
A total of 49 passenger vehicles and 73 trucks are stuck on the Russian side.
