112 militants with families evacuated from Eastern Ghouta – Russian MoD
The evacuation of militants and members of their families from the city of Douma to the Idlib de-escalation zone under the supervision of Russian military servicemen began on April 1, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.
"The evacuation of militants and members of their families from the city of Douma [Eastern Ghouta] to the Idlib de-escalation zone began on April 1, 2018, with the assistance of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Warring Parties in Syria via the organized humanitarian corridor in the inhabited community of Muhayam al-Wafedeen," the ministry said, according to TASS.
A total of 1,146 people, including 112 militants and 1,034 members of their families, were evacuated to the Idlib province on 24 buses.
Along the entire route, their safety was ensured by Syrian police officers under the supervision of officers from the Russian Reconciliation Center and representatives of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, the Russian Defense Ministry noted.
