Investigative Committee opens criminal case on explosion in Northern Avenue
The Investigative Committee of Armenia has opened a criminal case following the blast in downtown Yerevan, according to Article 279 of the RA Criminal Code which is breach of safety regulations for the location, design, construction, operation or decommissioning of electron, proton, heavy ion accelerators, negligently causing grave or medium gravity damage to human health.
To note, the explosion occurred on Monday evening in Burger King restaurant on the Northern Avenue in the center of Yerevan, injuring several people, the press service of the Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations reported earlier. Four teams of firefighters arrived at the scene.
Nine people, including foreign citizens, have been injured in an oxygen cylinder explosion, that took place at the restaurant opened about two months ago.
According to the source, necessary investigatory and other procedural actions are conducted to provide the comprehensive, complete and objective investigation of the case.
