Armenia to host next plenary sessions of CSTO PA Council and Assembly
The session of the Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Parliamentary Assembly (CSTO PA) kicked off in Saint Petersburg, Russia on Thursday in participation of Speaker of the Armenian National Assembly Ara Babloyan.
CSTO Secretary General Yuri Khachaturov, as well as the speakers of the parliaments of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan also took part in the session, the parliament’s press service told Panorama.am.
Upon the proposal of Speaker Babloyan, the next plenary sessions of the CSTO PA Council and the Assembly will be held in Armenia’s capital, Yerevan on 29-30 October.
The meeting focused on several issues related to the CSTO PA’s activities, including the results of the Minsk session of the CSTO PA Council, the situation in the organization's area of responsibility and measures to counteract challenges and threats to collective security at present, the priorities of Kazakhstan's Presidency in the CSTO in 2018, etc.
