Serzh Sargsyan's nomination for Armenia's prime minister approved by RPA Executive body
The Council of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) has made decision to officially nominate the party chairman Serzh Sargsyan for the next prime minister of Armenia.
The relevant decision was made today in Tsakhkadzor at the sitting of the party executive body.
RPA reported in a release, Sargsyan's nomination was discussed at the suggestion of acting Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan who is also the first vice president of the party. The decision was approved univocally. It is expected that RPA will officially nominate Serzh Sargsyan on April 16.
Parliament, where the ruling party holds majority, will vote on the candidacy of the prime minister on April 17.
