Serzh Sargsyan elected as Prime Minister of Armenia
Third President of Armenia, the Chairman of the ruling Republican Party Serzh Sargsyan was elected the new prime minister of Armenia. Sargsyan's candidacy was approved by 76 in favor and 17 opposing votes in the parliament where the ruling party holds majority.
The voting results announced by the speaker of parliament Ara Baloyna were received by applause by the RPA MPs.
To remind, under the constitutional amendments adopted in the referendum of 2015, the new cabinet will be formed within a period of twenty days by the Prime Minister.
