Villagers get together to rescue a stork
Lusarat village of Armenia located near Khor Virap Monastery has been in turmoil since early morning. Rescuers, police officers and ordinary villagers were on the spot with a mission to rescue an injured stork that had spent four days trapped on antenna lines.
In order to attract the attention of emergency service, one of the village teachers had resorted to an extreme measure, calling the service and reporting about a fake suicide attempt.
As Lusarat residents told Panorama.am reporter, the villagers were unable to rescue the bird by themselves and applied to the ministry of emergency situations, the ministry of nature protection and individual environmentalist, yet the calls were useless.
"That was the reason one of the teachers had to resort to an innocent lie," they noted.
After applying technical equipment, police officers and rescuers managed to save the bird. The stork is injured is cared about by veterinaries.
