Police of Armenia: Nikol Pashinyan forcefully removed from the scene of gathering
The Police of Armenia has released a statement, saying MPs Nikol Pashinyan, Sasun Mikayelyan and Ararat Mirzoyan have been forcefully removed from the scene of gathering in Yerevan.
"Despite the appeals and numerous statements of the Police, Nikol Pashinyan continued the illegal march across Artsakh street, calling for acts of mass disobedience. Following the decision to cease the gathering, all actions of the rally organizers have been illegal, and the rally participants are obliged to leave the scene of gathering," the statement released by the Police press service said.
It next cites Article 33 of the RA law "On Freedom of Assemblies" explaining its decision to disperse the meeting, applying appropriate measures.
The Police once again reiterates its call to the citizens that whenever the decision to stop the gathering is in force, the citizens are forced to stay away from the place of meeting, thus enabling the police to refrain from applying measures of compulsion.
