Armenia’s acting sport minister quits, joins protests
Armenia’s acting Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs Hrachya Rostomyan has resigned.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Rostomyan says as a member of the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP), he is joining the calls of the party leader to join the public uprising.
“As a supporter of the Prosperous Armenia Party, I am joining PAP leader Gagik Tsarukyan’s call for a nationwide mobilization and am taking to the streets myself,” he said.
“I am calling on my Republican and Dashnak (Armenian Revolutionary Federation –Dashnaktsutyun (ARF-D)) counterparts to join the people and fulfil their demands.”
Earlier, the Prosperous Armenia Party urged its members to join the protest campaign.
