Violinist Maxim Vengerov, State Symphony Orchestra of Armenia perform together at Malta int’l music festival
The State Symphony Orchestra of Armenia and world-famous violinist Maxim Vengerov performed together on Wednesday in the framework of Malta International Music Festival. During the musical evening, the audience enjoyed works of Pyotr Tchaikovsky under the conduction of maestro Sergey Smbatyan, the orchestra said in a press release.
"The mutual understanding between conductors and soloists is an important aspect for the performance, even more important than professionalism level. And I can say that it really exists between me and Sergey Smbatyan thanks to our friendship and the fact Sergey himself is a violinist,” Vengerov told an interview.
“Maybe I can convince Maestro Smbatyan to perform together Bach's Double Concerto for Two Violins,” he said, adding that he is always impressed by the energy and enthusiasm which is always present within the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra.
Malta International Music Festival is being held in Valletta from April 15 to May 1, with the State Symphony Orchestra of Armenia taking part in it as an official orchestra.
