Serzh Sargsyan urges Republicans to prioritize domestic stability, country’s security
Members of the parliamentary faction of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) held a meeting with ex-President and RPA Chairman Serzh Sargsyan and acting Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan on Wednesday, April 25, the party’s press service told Panorama.am.
Serzh Sargsyan, who was in attendance of the first part of the meeting, presented in detail the reasons behind his resignation from the post of prime minister and spoke about different formats of working in the National Assembly. He called on the Republicans to prioritize domestic stability and Armenia’s security in everything, which in case of any decision can be fulfilled only through the RPA’s unity.
At the second part of this meeting, the RPA faction members discussed the current political situation in Armenia and possible developments with acting PM Karen Karapetyan.
An agreement was reached to announce that the Republican faction stands ready to discuss any matter with all sides without preconditions. An arrangement was also reached to start discussing, within the Republican Party’s governing bodies, the issue of replacing the party’s chairman.
