There is no threat to the stability, including to the personnel policy of the Armed Forces, the head of “Yelk” fraction, the leader of “My Step” movement Nikol Pashinyan stated today at a meeting with members of the ruling Republican Party fraction at the National Assembly.

To note, Pashinyan is holding consultations with the National Assembly fractions over his candidacy to the post of the country’s prime minister the parliament is set to vote tomorrow.

In response to the question by MP Hermine Naghdalyan about the current sentiments in Azerbaijan, specifically the idea that with the removal of the Armenia’s long-served military-political leadership and their replacement by a cabinet with more liberal views creates a favorable momentum to solve the Artsakh issue, Pashinyan said: I think that all of us constitute that no threat is observed to the stability, including to the personnel stability of our Armed Forces.”

Asked whether there are any threats in term of military or other developments judging from the optimism voiced by Azerbaijani politicians and state officials, Pashinyan said: “I think there is more about worrying rather than being happy in Azerbaijan with regard to the situation in Armenia, since the ongoing political process significantly increased our national spirit with all subsequent military-political consequences. Even if some are happy in Azerbaijan, I think they assess the situation not properly,” added Pashinyan.
