No one will any longer fail to put up with Armenian people holding real power – opposition MP
A new government must come into power today to strengthen 'what is already an undeniable fact – the power belongs to the people’, Yelk opposition faction MP Mane Tandilyan said in her remarks delivered at today’s special session of the parliament on the election of Armenia’s new prime minister.
According to the lawmaker, the advantage of the emerging government is that it has a clear understanding on the day it will resign. “The very absence of this understanding has caused this crisis for years,” she noted.
The opposition MP stressed there can always be found ways to deal with issues if there is a desire. “The problems that the Republicans are trying to present as unmanageable can in fact be settled,” she said. “The new authorities should realize that they should not put the blame on their predecessor for failing to resolve the porblems, instead they need to solve the issues within the timeframes set by the Constitution and ensure a progress in that period.”
“There were questions that I was expecting from my Republican colleagues, but they did not come. For example, Mihran Poghosyan could clarify how Nikol Pashinyan plans to disclose offshore scandals,” she said.
Concluding her speech, Tandilyan stressed “no one will any longer fail to put up with the people holding the real power.”
